COMMUNITY SERVICES PROGRAM

The Community Services Program provides a variety of services to low income people. Although federally funded with a Community Services Block Grant, this program has been locally designed to meet the needs of the people in our community.
Housing assistance is provided as payment toward first month's rent, payment toward past due rent or Security Deposit; and short term emergency shelter.
Scholarships for continuing education are provided to clients wishing to further their education and job skills in an effort to improve their employability.
The McHenry County Housing Authority receives a small annual grant from the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board which is administered by the Community Services Program to supplement and extend already existing programs. Clients may receive emergency shelter as a one time service.
