The McHenry County Housing Authority over the years has purchased and rehabilitated 23 single family homes and duplex units, throughout McHenry County. The homes are rented to McHenry County low-income families under the Public Housing Low Rent Assistance Program.
Tenants for this program are selected from a Public Housing waiting list. Qualifying applicants must live or work in McHenry County or be put on a secondary Public Housing Low Rent Assistance Program waiting list. Income limits for the Public Housing Low Rent Assistance Program are the same as the limits for the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program.
